ASX200 up 65 points (0.9%) to 7440. Evolution (+1%); said its 1Q gold output was higher than the preceding quarter and that costs were also higher, but not by as much as expected. 

ASX200 up 21 points (0.3%) to 7402. Brambles (+2.8%); said North American customer growth was constrained at the start of FY22 by pallet shortages that it doesn’t see being resolved until 4Q.

ASX200 down 22 points (0.3%) to 7252. Lake Resources (+12.6%); has signed a deal with US-based lithium extractor Lilac Solutions, which has ties to Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos.

ASX200 up 37 points (0.5%) to 7454. Whitehaven Coal (+4.3%); Australia’s environment minister has approved plans for WHC to build an open-cut coal mine in northwest NSW.

ASX200 up 12 points (0.2%) to 7420. Qantas (-0.6%); the ACCC finds Qantas and Japan Airlines alliance not in the public interest.

ASX200 up 31 points (0.4%) to 7402. Infratril (+0.7%); has committed US$233m to the development of wind and solar power investments in Asia.

ASX200 down 23 points (0.3%) to 7507. Macquarie Group (+5.7%); Sees 1H22 slightly down on 2H21 but expecting superior performance in the medium term as market conditions remain favourable.

ASX200 up 33 points (0.4%) to 7536. Iluka (-3.9%); 1H profit +14% to $129m vs $113m yoy.  Revenue +62%.  Div reinstated.

ASX200 down 59 points (0.8%) to 7443. Newcrest (+1.5%); FY profit $1.16bn, +80% yoy.   Balance sheet means they are well positioned for growth, looking for opportunities.

ASX200 up 7 points (0.1%) to 7517. Tabcorp (+0.5%); FY profit $269m vs $870m loss yoy.  Outlined a timetable for a planned demerger of its lotteries and keno business. 

ASX200 down 50 points (0.7%) to 7532. Sims Ltd (-3.6%); FY profit $229m vs $265m loss last year. Div 30c vs 6c yoy.    Higher sales, increased metal prices and cost cutting.

ASX200 down 31 points (0.4%) to 7598. JB Hifi (-0.3%); FY profit +67% to $506m and declares a div of $1.07, +52%.    Didn’t provide guidance due to covid uncertainty.

ASX200 up 35 points (0.5%) to 7623. Baby Bunting (-6.6%); FY profit +76%.  Revenue +16%.   Not sure why the market doesn’t like it…..

ASX200 up 1 point  to 7584. Newcrest (+0.7%); said it would go ahead with a $182m project to shore up long-term production from its Telfer gold mine in WA.
