Immutep outlines clinical development priorities and plans for 2027

CEO Marc Voigt discusses the next steps for efti and IMP761, including potential Phase II trials and upcoming clinical milestones.

Immutep (ASX: IMM) is progressing its clinical development strategy, focusing on eftilagimod alfa (efti) in head and neck cancer and soft tissue sarcoma. Speaking with Sharecafe’s Rachel Jones, CEO Marc Voigt outlines the clinical data supporting these indications, the company’s regulatory progress and potential partnering opportunities as it prepares for the next phase of development.

Following its review of the TACTI-004 trial, Immutep has identified manufacturing differences between 200-litre and 2,000-litre production batches, with the findings informing plans for a new 200-litre manufacturing run. The company is also preparing for potentially three Phase II clinical trials, including up to two involving efti and one involving IMP761, with studies targeted to commence in the second half of 2027.

Voigt also discusses encouraging Phase I results for IMP761 in autoimmune diseases, including statistically significant findings from a placebo-controlled study. With further clinical data expected before the end of 2026, alongside ongoing regulatory engagement and partnering discussions, Immutep is positioning both programs for their next stages of development.
