Australian investment manager reports 1.3% FUM growth for the September quarter, driven by positive investment performance and fourth consecutive quarter of net client inflows.

L1 Group Limited (ASX:L1G), an Australian-based investment manager specialising in a range of investment funds for both wholesale and retail clients, announced a notable increase in its Funds under Management (FUM) for the quarter ended 30 September 2026. The company’s total FUM grew by 1.3% over the period, reaching $19.311 billion. This marks a continued expansion for the firm, driven by various factors within its investment strategies.

Excluding a c.$400 million Industry Fund mandate that was returned by the Catalyst Fund in July 2026, FUM for the quarter would have seen a more substantial increase of 3.5%. The period was characterised by positive investment performance, with the L1 Long Short strategies and the L1 Gold Fund identified as key contributors to this growth. L1 Group further reported its fourth consecutive quarter of net client inflows, underscoring sustained investor confidence.

Client inflows were notably bolstered by a $375 million capital raising conducted by L1 Gold Fund Limited (ASX:LGF) in September 2026. Additionally, the L1 Long Short strategies experienced net client inflows in each month throughout the quarter. While Platinum strategies recorded net client outflows, this figure stood at $173 million, a reduction from the $308 million recorded in the prior June quarter.

Following the close of the quarter, L1 Global Long Short Fund Limited (ASX:GLS) unveiled a significant capital raising initiative of up to $483 million. The retail entitlement offer associated with this raising is tentatively scheduled to conclude on 23 October 2026, with the quotation and normal trading of new shares anticipated to commence on 2 November 2026. These dates are indicative and subject to change, with further details available in GLS’s ASX announcements.
