Resources & Energy Group Limited (ASX:REZ) announced on 5 November 2026 a substantial expansion of its tenure at the Menzies Goldfield in Western Australia. The company, an independent ASX-listed mineral resources explorer and developer whose flagship asset is the Menzies Goldfield, has increased its total granted and pending landholding in the region by approximately 69%, bringing the total to more than 18,250 hectares (182.5 km²).
This strategic expansion involves the pegging of ten new Prospecting Licence applications, covering 1,816 hectares, alongside one new Exploration Licence application, comprising 19 sub-blocks or approximately 5,669 hectares. The new tenure adds to REZ’s existing 55 Prospecting Licences, three Mining Leases, and one Exploration Licence. According to REZ Group Managing Director J. Daniel Moore, this latest round of acquisition reflects a disciplined, technically driven approach, consolidating the company’s position and providing a larger, more coherent land package over prospective gold environments.
The new applications were selected following a detailed review of historical datasets, regolith mapping, structural interpretations, and legacy drilling information. They cover favourable geology, historical gold anomalies, and underexplored corridors in proximity to historical gold workings, with several new prospecting applications located east of the Gigante Grande Gold Mineral Resource. REZ plans to work with stakeholders to bring these applications to grant, after which it intends to seek necessary approvals, undertake reconnaissance mapping and sampling, complete geophysical reviews, and prepare maiden drilling programs targeting shallow oxide gold potential.
