Tivan (ASX: TVN) is an Australian critical minerals exploration and development company. The company has announced it has secured final regulatory and heritage approvals to commence a maiden drilling program at the Walshy’s Wall prospect, situated within the Sandover Fluorite Project. Located approximately 230 kilometres north-east of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory, the company received final government regulatory approval from the Northern Territory Government and a Sacred Site Clearance Certificate from the Central Land Council, paving the way for planned exploration activities.
The decision to proceed with drilling follows encouraging previous rock chip sampling results at Walshy’s Wall. Geologists identified a manganese-barite gossan extending over one kilometre of strike length, with samples returning grades of up to 44.8% manganese. Additionally, the sampling indicated elevated levels of copper, beryllium, and tungsten, suggesting a possible connection to a broader hydrothermal system and highlighting the potential for a polymetallic system. High-grade fluorite, up to 98.4% CaF2, was also identified in the same outcrop as the gossan.
Tivan’s exploration team is now preparing for a two-staged drilling program, consisting of up to 31 reverse circulation (RC) drill holes. Stage One will involve nine priority holes specifically designed to test the highest-priority target areas along the gossan, with drilling anticipated to commence from October. These initial holes aim to determine if the surface geochemical anomalies correspond with mineralisation at depth. Tivan’s Executive Chairman, Mr Grant Wilson, commented that the company is “very pleased to have secured these approvals on a timely basis,” expressing gratitude to the Northern Territory Government and the Central Land Council for enabling the drilling program before the summer.
