Abacus Group, a diversified property group investing in commercial property and self-storage facilities, has released its annual financial report for the year ended 30 June 2026. The stapled group announced a notable decline in total revenues and other income, which fell by 13.1% to $207.1 million. A significant shift was also observed in its profitability, with the company reporting a net loss after income tax expense attributable to stapled security holders of $75.5 million, a substantial decrease of 380.5% from the previous corresponding period. Despite these downturns, Funds from Operations (FFO) saw a more moderate decline, down 1.9% to $81.2 million.

On a per-security basis, basic earnings moved into negative territory, registering at (8.34) cents for the year, compared to a profit of 3.01 cents in the prior year. Basic FFO per security also slightly reduced to 9.08 cents, down from 9.26 cents. Notably, Abacus Group maintained its distribution per security at 8.50 cents, mirroring the previous year’s payout. The company’s net tangible assets per security increased to $1.72 as of 30 June 2026, up from $1.59 in the corresponding period of 2025. This increase is partly attributed to transactions, including the sale of Abacus Storage King entities during the period.

The distribution of 8.50 cents per stapled security includes a proposed distribution of 4.25 cents for the June 2026 half-year, which was declared on 18 June 2026 and is scheduled for payment on 31 August 2026. The December 2025 half-year distribution of 4.25 cents per stapled security, totalling $38.0 million, was paid on 27 February 2026 and included $8.1 million of franking credits attached. The Group confirmed that its Distribution Reinvestment Plan will not apply to this final distribution.
