Alara Resources Limited (ASX: AUQ), an Australian listed pure-play copper producer and explorer, has released its annual Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves (MROR) statement for the Al Wash-hi Majaza Copper Mine in Oman, effective 30 June 2026. The company is currently focused on operating the Al Wash-hi Majaza Copper mine and concentrate production facility in Oman. The updated statement, independently reviewed and audited by SRK Consulting, highlights a projected mine life consistent with commissioning expectations, with the Ore Reserve supporting approximately eight years of production at a rate of 1.0 million tonnes per annum.
The Al Wash-hi Majaza Copper Mine, in which Alara holds a 51% interest through Al Hadeetha Resources LLC (AHRL), now reports Mineral Resources of 10.23 million tonnes at 0.78% copper and 0.25 grams per tonne gold. This equates to 79.9 thousand tonnes of contained copper and 81.4 thousand ounces of contained gold on a 100% basis. A notable achievement is the enhanced resource confidence, with 98% of the Mineral Resource tonnage now classified as Measured and Indicated, and approximately 47% categorised as Measured, totaling 4.76 million tonnes at 0.95% copper and 0.29 grams per tonne gold. For the first time, the Mineral Resource is also reported within a conceptual pit shell, fulfilling Reasonable Prospects for Eventual Economic Extraction (RPEEE) criteria.
The updated Ore Reserves stand at 7.70 million tonnes grading 0.81% copper and 0.25 grams per tonne gold, containing 62.4 thousand tonnes of copper and 61.8 thousand ounces of gold, all classified as Probable. This represents the outcome of a comprehensive independent audit by SRK Consulting under the JORC Code (2012). Alara Resources also confirmed that near-mine exploration activities are continuing, with no new Exploration Results or Exploration Targets reported in this statement. The company aims to utilise this updated information for ongoing operational planning and future resource development.
