Evolution Mining (ASX: EVN) announced substantial exploration updates across its principal Australian assets on 15 September 2026, signalling continued efforts to expand resource bases and extend mine lives. Evolution Mining is a leading Australian gold mining company with a portfolio of high-margin, long-life assets, also producing copper. The updates detail promising results from ongoing drilling programs at its Cowal, Northparkes, and Ernest Henry operations, underpinning the company’s strategic focus on leveraging existing infrastructure for future growth.
At the Cowal operation, the company highlighted an emerging Oban corridor exhibiting geological architecture and scale potential comparable to its existing underground mine. This supports the aspiration to discover a new underground mine and expand the E41 open pit, with recent drilling results beyond Ore Reserve pit designs illustrating significant growth potential. In parallel, Northparkes saw the declaration of maiden Mineral Resources for Major Tom and E51. Encouraging near-surface copper results were returned from Stock Margin Reverse Circulation drilling, and new drilling at E26 South identified potential for new porphyry copper mineralisation adjacent to underground infrastructure, prompting a 10km drilling program to test its scale and grade.
Evolution Mining is also progressing an aggressive 20km drill program in FY27 at Northparkes, specifically targeting Mineral Resources growth. At Ernest Henry, a 2.5km deep directional drilling program is underway, designed to extend the mine life of one of Australia’s premier copper-gold operations, with district-scale opportunities to leverage latent mill capacity. The company’s FY27 priorities include advancing new underground and open pit opportunities at Cowal, growing accessible metal inventory at Northparkes, and extending the main orebody mine-life at Ernest Henry, all contributing to converting geological opportunities into long-term value.
