Magnum Mining and Exploration Limited (ASX: MGU), an Australian mining and exploration company primarily focused on rare earth elements (REE) projects in Brazil, has released a comprehensive update on its operational advancements and corporate activities. The company reported significant progress at its Piracanjuba North project, the receipt of all assay results for Palmares, the launch of a new corporate website, and a strategic review of its broader project portfolio aimed at identifying divestment and joint venture opportunities.
At the Azimuth REE Project’s Piracanjuba North prospect, Magnum Mining has completed approximately 6,900 metres of drilling as part of an ongoing 10,000-metre programme. With nine drill rigs remaining on site, exploration has expanded across PN-7 and its extensions, broadening the coverage over the interpreted 116 square kilometre geophysical anomaly. The company remains on track to deliver a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate for Piracanjuba North in November 2026, subject to ongoing exploration results. Concurrently, all assay results from the 75-hole, 1,145-metre drilling programme at the Palmares REE Project have been received, with final quality assurance/quality control, technical review, and geological interpretation now underway.
In corporate developments, Magnum has launched a new corporate website, updating its branding and reflecting an increased strategic focus on the Piracanjuba North project and its wider Brazilian REE portfolio. This new platform aims to enhance shareholder and stakeholder access to company information. Additionally, Mr Jack Lifton has elected to terminate his consultancy engagement with Magnum due to personal reasons. The company confirmed that none of the 5,000,000 performance rights issued to Mr Lifton had vested.
The company’s board has continued its review of the project portfolio, consistent with an exploration-led growth strategy. This review has identified several potential joint venture and divestment opportunities across Magnum’s broader assets, with preliminary discussions with third parties now in progress. This strategic rationalisation aims to reduce holding costs and overheads, allowing the company to concentrate capital and technical resources on its core exploration priorities. Magnum will provide further updates as material developments arise from these discussions.
