Stelar Metals Limited (ASX: SLB), an explorer with an experienced team focused on critical mineral discoveries to enable the world to achieve net-zero emissions, has announced spectacular high-grade tungsten assay results from its Phase 2 surface sampling and geological mapping program at the Hill of Leaders Tungsten Project in the Northern Territory. The company, which is currently focused on this strategic critical minerals opportunity, reported samples reaching up to 15.69% WO₃, highlighting the significant potential of the project ahead of its maiden drilling campaign.
The Phase 2 results showcased exceptional tungsten grades, with seven of the 29 samples exceeding 1% WO₃. Notable assays included 15.69% WO₃ (12.45% W) from sample HOLA039, 7.76% WO₃ (6.16% W) from HOLA036, and 4.96% WO₃ (3.94% W) from HOLA006. Importantly, mineralisation has been confirmed across the mapped corridor, with high-grade tungsten returned from multiple discrete sample sites, not just an isolated occurrence. A significant proportion of these Phase 2 samples were collected from ground never previously sampled by Stelar, extending the known tungsten footprint.
This fieldwork has materially advanced drill targeting for Stelar’s maiden 3,000-metre reverse circulation (RC) drilling program, which is set to commence in the coming weeks. Executive Chairman Stephen Biggins stated these results indicate a high-grade tungsten system of genuine substance, with newly covered ground yielding more tungsten. He also highlighted extraordinary tungsten sector tailwinds, including China’s export controls, the upcoming US Department of War prohibition on Chinese-sourced tungsten from January 2027, and historically high APT pricing, underscoring the opportune timing for the project’s advancement.
