Patriot Resources Limited (ASX: PAT) announced on 7 August 2026 that it has successfully expanded its 100%-owned Tassa Silver-Gold Project in southern Peru by securing a new tenement, ‘Tassa 5’, through staking. Patriot Resources Limited is an ASX-listed company advancing a global portfolio anchored by its Tassa Silver-Gold Project in Peru, which hosts a Maiden Inferred Mineral Resource of 31.4Moz AgEq. This strategic addition directly adjoins the existing resource and extends the company’s footprint along the southern trend of the high-grade mineralised system.
The acquisition of Tassa 5 significantly increases Patriot’s landholding within the silver-gold rich corridor controlled by the Tassa Fault, growing its tenure from 1,200 hectares to 1,800 hectares. This expansion also extends the interpreted strike length of the system from approximately 2.9 kilometres to 3.1 kilometres. Patriot’s CEO, Dominic Duggan, commented that Tassa 5 represents the “final piece of available highly prospective land in the vicinity,” directly adjacent to their existing project where the system remains open. The company highlighted the favourable jurisdiction, with surrounding land packages held by major mining companies including Buenaventura, Teck, Barrick, and Fresnillo.
Looking ahead, Patriot Resources confirmed that Peru’s Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) has validated Tassa’s Environmental Impact Declaration (DIA). The company continues direct Board-level engagement with the Tassa Community and has initiated discussions with the Pachamayo Community, whose land overlaps the new Tassa 5 tenement area. Patriot plans to conduct further geological mapping and sampling to refine drilling targets across the broader Tassa project, with the aim of progressing a Phase 1 drilling program once community agreements are finalised.
