Move aligns with strategy to advance battery-grade graphite production technology

Volt Resources (ASX:VRC) has moved its head office from New Jersey to The EDGE at the University of Alabama’s ‘Alabama Entrepreneurship Institute’. This innovation hub aims to foster startups and job creation. Volt Resources is focused on becoming a graphite producer and advanced materials developer. The company is advancing its patent-pending technology for low-cost, HF-free purification to produce battery-grade graphite.

The relocation places Volt closer to its planned industrial site, facilitating better collaboration and technology transfer with the University of Alabama and local economic development authorities. Volt is actively working to strengthen its position in North America’s battery supply chain. This includes completing graphite purification bench-scale test work and conducting pilot plant trials in Alabama.

This move follows Volt Resources drawing $500,000 from its $1 million funding agreement with RiverFort Global Opportunities. These funds will support strategic initiatives for producing high-purity graphite products and advancing the development of the Bunyu graphite project in Tanzania. A recent scoping study for the planned Alabama refinery highlighted the strong project economics of Volt’s graphite purification process.

Currently in the test work phase, Volt is engaging with potential offtake partners, exploring government facilitation, and considering funding options to progress with project development. The company is also focused on strategic partner negotiations to advance the stage one Bunyu Graphite Project to the development phase, aiming to reduce capital and operating costs for economically viable development in the current graphite price environment.
