Kingsgate Consolidated Ltd (ASX:KCN), an Australian-based gold and silver producer and explorer with operations in Thailand and a development project in Chile, has reported a significant 27% increase in its cash balance, reaching A$108.9 million, for the September 2026 quarter. Despite operational challenges stemming from heavy rainfall and a processing interruption at its Chatree Gold Mine, the company also announced a substantial 31% increase in silver and 37% increase in gold Ore Reserves at its Nueva Esperanza project, extending its reserve life to over 12 years.
During the quarter, Kingsgate produced 14,802 ounces of gold and 187,925 ounces of silver from its Chatree operations. The Chatree Plant 1 experienced a mechanical failure in July, leading to a temporary processing interruption. Remediation efforts successfully restored Plant 1, and the company is pursuing an insurance claim, with most proceeds expected in 2027. Managing Director and CEO Jamie Gibson acknowledged the quarter’s operational headwinds but expressed optimism for improved mining flexibility and a strong second half of FY27, as A-West de-stacking and A-East cutback progress.
Financially, total available cash, bullion, and doré reached A$169.1 million. A final dividend of 10 cents per share was declared for payment in November 2026. Strategic land acquisitions in Thailand, totalling 86 hectares for A$11 million, were completed to support Chatree’s long-term expansion. The Nueva Esperanza project in Chile commenced its first drilling program in nine years. Kingsgate also secured a new Gold and Silver Sales Agreement, promising faster payments and reduced refining fees. The company’s FY27 production guidance for Chatree stands at 75,000-85,000 ounces of gold and 650,000-750,000 ounces of silver.
