Raptor Metals Ltd (ASX: RAP), an Australian-listed exploration company primarily focused on Canadian copper exploration across its Chester, Coyote, and Foghorn projects in New Brunswick’s Bathurst Mining Camp, has announced compelling new assay results from its historic core sampling program at the 100%-owned Chester Project. The results, highlighting strong copper-rich and high-grade polymetallic mineralisation, are set to significantly strengthen the geological dataset supporting an upcoming updated Mineral Resource Estimate.
The sampling program systematically targeted 22 historic diamond drill holes within Chester’s existing JORC 2012 Mineral Resource footprint, with 806.52 metres of archived core sampled to address gaps in the historic multi-element dataset. Significant copper-rich intercepts included 22.0m at 2.14% Cu (2.58% CuEq) from 21m and 32.0m at 1.38% Cu (1.91% CuEq) from 19m. Polymetallic results also demonstrated high-grade zinc, lead, and silver, such as 13.87m at 1.84% Cu, 3.62% Zn and 15.1g/t Ag (3.15% CuEq) from 29.13m, and 4.5m at 4.23% Pb, 9.64% Zn and 34.3g/t Ag (3.66% CuEq) from 8m, along with indium findings.
Raptor Metals Managing Director, Brett Wallace, commented on the encouraging results, noting that Chester continues to demonstrate potential beyond its copper resource alone, with significant zinc, lead, and silver grades adding to the understanding of the broader polymetallic system. This expanded dataset will be integrated with recent drilling, geophysical, and metallurgical work to refine Chester’s geological model. The immediate focus is now on delivering an updated Mineral Resource Estimate, providing a stronger foundation for identifying potential resource extensions and guiding future exploration programs.
