G11 Resources (ASX: G11) announced on 21 September 2026 the identification of a significant copper-gold drill target at its Northeast Pyrite prospect in western Tasmania. G11 Resources Limited is an exploration company identifying and developing mineral resources on its wholly owned exploration tenements. The prospect, situated within a 4km structural corridor along strike from the historic Mt Lyell mining centre on EL11/2025, is now slated for a drilling campaign.
The Northeast Pyrite target lies adjacent to the highly prospective Great Lyell Fault, positioned approximately 4km from the Copper Chert and Tasman Crown deposits and 14km south along strike from the Henty Gold Mine. This strategic location in the middle Cambrian Mount Read Volcanics forms part of G11’s broader Sedgewick Bluff Project. Three drill holes have been designed to test a broad coincident geophysical-geochemical anomaly, with submissions for drilling approvals lodged with Mineral Resources Tasmania.
To support this initiative, the company secured up to $120,000 in co-funding under the Tasmanian Government’s Exploration Drilling Grant Initiative (EDGI), allocated for direct drilling and helicopter support. The prospect’s potential is underpinned by compelling geological and geophysical features, including favourable litho-stratigraphy, the Central Volcanic Complex and Tyndall Group boundary, strong IP chargeability anomalies, and widespread alteration identified in previous work, including historical drill hole LMD01A.
G11 anticipates commencing the program in the upcoming summer field season, pending finalisation of grant deeds. The company notes that historical assay data from Northeast Pyrite are not JORC 2012 compliant and are considered indicative of exploration potential, with definitive widths and grades requiring new lab assay results.
