The new facility will accommodate more than 125 employees, positioning the financial titan closer to a significant technology talent hub. Goldman Sachs provides a wide range of financial services including investment banking, securities, investment management, and consumer banking.
The move comes amidst a broader trend where Corporate America is substantially increasing its investments in AI. David Solomon, CEO of Goldman Sachs, highlighted the rationale behind the location choice. “The Pacific Northwest is home to many of the world’s top engineering schools and a deep pool of talent,” Solomon stated. He further emphasised, “Hiring exceptional talent is central to how we adapt and grow.” The Wall Street giant currently employs over 12,000 engineers, representing approximately one-quarter of its global workforce. These engineers play a vital role in developing the sophisticated technologies that power Goldman Sachs’ diverse businesses and drive its operational advancements.
