Katana Capital Limited (ASX: KAT), an Australian investment funds management company that focuses on generating returns for its shareholders through strategic investments, has released its Appendix 4E Full Year Report for the period ended 30 June 2026. The company reported a substantial 43% increase in net profit after tax attributable to members, rising to $3,808,000 from $2,665,000 in the previous financial year. Revenue from ordinary activities also experienced a modest uptick of 4%, reaching $1,016,000 compared to $977,000 a year prior.
The significant boost in profitability was primarily fueled by robust investment income, which considerably lifted the company’s total net investment income. This figure soared to $7,998,000 for the year, a marked increase from $4,638,000 in the prior corresponding period. This strong performance underscores positive developments within Katana Capital’s investment portfolio. Despite this growth, the company also noted increases in various operating expenses, including management and performance fees, as profit before income tax expense stood at $5,596,000, up from $3,329,000.
In terms of shareholder returns, Katana Capital declared a fully franked final dividend of $0.005 per ordinary security for 2026, maintaining consistency with the previous year’s final dividend. The record date for this dividend is scheduled for 8 July 2026. Additionally, the company’s Net Tangible Asset (NTA) backing per ordinary security demonstrated improvement, reaching $1.46 as at 30 June 2026, an increase from $1.36 a year earlier. Earnings per share (EPS) also saw a healthy climb, arriving at 12.04 cents, compared to 8.43 cents in June 2025. The company confirmed that its accounts are currently in the process of being audited.
