Amplitude Energy Limited (ASX:AEL), an Australian gas production company focused on supplying the Southeast domestic gas market, has provided an update on its gas and oil Reserves and Contingent Resources as of 30 June 2026. The company, which owns and operates offshore gas fields and onshore processing plants in the Otway and Gippsland Basins, alongside non-operated oil production in the Cooper Basin, reported its Proved and Probable (2P) gas and oil Reserves at 26.7 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMboe), or 163.4 petajoules equivalent (PJe). Additionally, its 2C Contingent Resources were assessed at 50.8 MMboe (310.7 PJe) for the same period.
The company’s 2P Reserves saw a movement from 31.1 MMboe at 30 June 2025 to the current 26.7 MMboe. This change was primarily influenced by 4.5 MMboe of production during the 2026 financial year. Basin-specific revisions included a net downward adjustment of 0.1 MMboe in the offshore Gippsland Basin, attributed to the year-end reconciliation of forecasted and actual production volumes. Conversely, a net upward revision of 0.1 MMboe was recorded in the onshore Cooper Basin, driven by the successful drilling of Callawonga development wells and reduced operating costs, which extended the economic life of these fields.
Amplitude Energy also reported an increase in its 2C Contingent Resources, which rose by 2.5 MMboe to reach 50.8 MMboe at the end of the financial year. Key factors contributing to this uplift included the booking of the Sole-5 infill development opportunity in the Sole field, adding 3.1 MMboe, and a 0.4 MMboe increase associated with the Patricia Baleen restart project following updated technical evaluation. These gains were partially offset by a 1.0 MMboe reduction due to the relinquishment of permits PEL 494 and VIC/L34 in the Otway Basin, which led to the de-booking of the Dombey gas field and the VIC/L34 portion of the Black Watch gas field, though the remainder of Black Watch in VIC/L33 remains booked.
