Austin Engineering Appoints New CEO, Director

Austin Engineering (ASX:ANG) has announced the appointment of Sybrandt Van Dyk as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. Van Dyk succeeds David Singleton, who will transition to a non-executive director role. Austin Engineering is a global company partnering with mining companies, contractors, and original equipment manufacturers, delivering vital services for more than 50 years. The company specialises in the design and manufacture of customised mining equipment.

Chairman Jim Walker highlighted Van Dyk’s extensive operational, commercial, and leadership experience gained from executive positions at WesTrac, Macmahon, DDH1, and most recently, as President of Perenti’s drilling services division. Walker also noted Van Dyk’s seven-year tenure as a non-executive director of Austin Engineering, ensuring a seamless transition and deep understanding of the company’s operations.

Van Dyk expressed his commitment to strengthening business integration to generate further sales opportunities and increase global market share. Singleton noted that during his four-year tenure as CEO, group revenue nearly doubled and profitability increased approximately 2.7 times. Walker acknowledged Singleton’s outstanding contribution, particularly in developing and leading the Austin 2.0 strategy, which has driven significant improvements across the group.

Additionally, Austin Engineering has appointed Ian Stone as a non-executive director, effective 1 July 2025. Stone, an independent director, will succeed Chris Indermaur as Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee. Stone brings extensive experience from executive and board roles across various sectors, including financial services, automotive, travel, and professional education.
