Core Energy Minerals (ASX:CR3) has commenced a drilling program at its Cummins Uranium Project, located in South Australia. The project aims to gather crucial data for assessing the site’s uranium mineralisation potential. Core Energy Minerals is a critical mineral explorer focused on uranium projects in tier-one mining jurisdictions and possesses assets in both Australia and Brazil.
The drilling program will consist of approximately 50 aircore holes spanning 3,000 metres. The primary objectives include confirming historical intercepts and improving understanding of the mineralised system present at Cummins. Bostech Drilling has been contracted to carry out the drilling, with an estimated completion timeframe of two to three weeks.
The company anticipates receiving the first batch of assay results within eight weeks of the initial submission. Executive director Tony Greenaway stated that previous work has strengthened the company’s exploration model, instilling confidence to proceed with the first drill testing of geophysical uranium anomalies.
Greenaway added that the Exploration Manager is on site for the startup of drilling with an experienced drill team and will continue mapping and sampling areas to develop a pipeline of targets ahead of future drilling programs at Cummins. The Cummins Project is situated on the Eyre Peninsula, known as one of South Australia’s highest radiometric regions, with multiple uranium occurrences and deposits.
