Community agreements secured, approvals pending for Madagascar graphite project.

Evion Group (ASX:EVG) has finalized community engagement activities, securing formal agreements with over 100 families, to facilitate the construction of the Maniry Graphite Mine in Madagascar. These agreements are a key component of Evion’s community development plan, which involves a substantial investment in the local Maniry community. The plan includes creating employment for at least 400 local people and offering opportunities for local contractors and businesses. Furthermore, Evion plans to construct new schools, onsite medical facilities, water wells, and other essential infrastructure. The company is also providing alternative accommodation for families who choose to relocate within the region.

Evion is preparing to submit the final version of its community development plan and environmental plan to Madagascar’s environmental authority, seeking project approvals. Managing Director David Round anticipates formal endorsement soon, which will enable the company to proceed with mine development. Simultaneously, Evion’s in-country team is engaging with Madagascar’s Ministry of Mines to renew its exploration permits, which is expected in the coming weeks. This renewal will pave the way for converting these permits into full exploitation licenses across all project areas outlined in Evion’s Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS), securing the necessary tenure for transitioning into mine development. Evion Group focuses on graphite projects in Madagascar, India, and Europe.
