IPT gains 50% of Alluminous, accelerating entry into HPA market.

Impact Minerals Limited (ASX: IPT) has announced a transformative move by acquiring a 50% interest in Alluminous Pty Ltd, becoming its largest shareholder. Alluminous recently secured 100% ownership of HiPurA Pty Ltd (Administrators Appointed), which holds the HiPurA® High Purity Alumina (HPA) processing technology previously owned by ChemX Materials Limited (Administrators Appointed). Both ChemX and HiPurA entered voluntary administration in January 2025. The $1.1 million investment grants Impact access to a near-commissioned pilot plant capable of producing at least 25 tonnes of HPA annually, potentially accelerating Impact’s market entry by up to two years. The HiPurA® process has demonstrated >99.99% (4N) purity and is designed for scalability. A fully equipped HPA laboratory and micro-plant come with the acquisition, enabling faster customer qualification and process optimization.

The move strategically complements Impact’s Lake Hope Project, which remains central to its long-term strategy. Financial modelling and report writing for the pre-feasibility study (PFS) are well advanced. The acquisition allows for potential integration of the Lake Hope resource into the HiPurA® process via back-engineering. Impact also anticipates strengthening its CRC-P research grant prospects through alignment with Alluminous.

The remaining 50% of Alluminous is held by the HiPurA® technology’s original inventors and North American venture capital investors, potentially facilitating access to North American capital markets. Alluminous aims to demonstrate the HiPurA® technology at pilot plant scale, expand to commercial-scale production, and potentially pursue a North American securities exchange listing within 12-24 months. The initial capital outlay of $1.6 million will be funded from existing cash reserves, with further capital raises planned to fund ongoing operations. Impact expects to reallocate some funds previously designated for the Lake Hope pilot plant to commission and run the HiPurA pilot plant.
