Orion Minerals Ltd (ASX:ORN), a multi-commodity exploration and development company focused on zinc, copper, nickel, and platinum group elements in South Africa’s Northern Cape province, has released its Appendix 5B quarterly cash flow report for the period ending September 2026. The company reported a cash and cash equivalents balance of A$9.618 million at the end of the quarter, a decrease from A$14.460 million at the beginning of the period. This reduction primarily reflects significant operational and investment outlays during the three months.
Net cash used in operating activities stood at an outflow of A$3.057 million, driven by payments for administration and corporate costs of A$1.564 million, staff costs of A$1.013 million, and exploration and evaluation expenditure of A$544,000. Interest received contributed A$32,000, while interest and other costs of finance paid amounted to A$46,000. Investing activities resulted in a net cash outflow of A$1.401 million. This included A$1.293 million for exploration and evaluation, A$60,000 for property, plant, and equipment, and A$48,000 for loans to other entities.
The company estimates approximately 2.21 quarters of funding available based on its current expenditure rate. Orion Minerals also detailed significant financing arrangements crucial for its project development. Notably, the US$40 million Tranche A of the Glencore Prepayment Facility became unconditional in October 2026, with the first drawdown anticipated by the end of that month, designated for the Uppers Mine development at the Prieska Copper Zinc Mine. Furthermore, the A$10 million Triple Flag Early Funding Arrangement, advanced against future gross revenue, was fully drawn. Several Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) loan facilities were also fully drawn, forming part of the total financing facilities amounting to A$40.255 million. Payments to related parties and their associates totalled A$222,000 for the quarter, covering both operating and investing activities.
