Matsa Resources Limited (ASX: MAT) today announced a significant milestone, confirming the receipt of a $10 million deposit from AngloGold Ashanti Australia Limited. This payment stems from a revised Tenement Option Agreement, under which AngloGold Ashanti is acquiring specific tenements from Matsa’s Lake Carey Gold Project in Western Australia. Matsa Resources Limited is a mineral exploration company primarily focused on gold projects. These are predominantly located in the Laverton region of Western Australia.
The deposit marks a crucial step forward in the previously announced $55 million transaction. AngloGold Ashanti exercised its option early to acquire the specified tenements, as detailed in Matsa’s ASX announcement from 22 September 2026. The full acquisition price comprises this initial $10 million deposit, with a balance of $45 million set to be paid upon the successful completion of the remaining conditions.
Matsa also advised that a significant condition precedent for the sale has been satisfied with the receipt of ministerial consent. While this represents a major hurdle cleared, further conditions must still be met for the transaction to fully conclude. These outstanding requirements include obtaining a limited number of third-party consents and securing the assignment of contractual access rights pertinent to the sale assets.
The final completion payment of $45 million is scheduled to occur within 15 business days following the satisfaction of all remaining conditions. Matsa Resources Limited has committed to keeping its shareholders fully informed through subsequent ASX announcements regarding the receipt of this final payment and will also detail the proposed use of the substantial funds once the transaction is complete.
