WT Financial Group Limited (ASX: WTL), one of Australia’s largest financial adviser networks, has announced a binding agreement to acquire a 70% interest in TNT Advisor Solutions (TNT), an established Australian provider of premium, onshore paraplanning services. WTL’s network delivers wealth management, retirement planning, and personal risk insurance advice through approximately 400 privately-owned advice practices. This acquisition aligns with WTL’s strategy of building an ecosystem around these practices, investing in capabilities that enhance growth, capacity, and efficiency for advice businesses.
The transaction sees WTL acquire its interest for $2.43 million, valuing TNT at $3.48 million, based on 4.5 times normalised EBITDA. The acquisition will be funded from WTL’s existing cash holdings, with completion expected shortly, subject to remaining requirements. TNT’s founders, Tamara Morey and Tanya Higgins, alongside CEO Dela Dzadey, will retain a 30% collective stake and remain actively involved in the business. WTL Managing Director Keith Cullen highlighted that the investment addresses the growing need for scalable specialist capabilities and high-quality outsourced services within the financial advice sector.
Co-founder Tamara Morey expressed that the partnership will enable TNT to pursue its growth ambitions while preserving its core qualities. The collaboration provides access to additional capital, technology, and broader markets, allowing TNT to enhance its focus on people, clients, and exceptional Australian-based paraplanning. Mr Cullen also noted an anticipated increase in demand for flexible outsourced paraplanning capacity, driven by a market shift towards quality, efficiency, and responsiveness, largely influenced by emerging technologies.
TNT will continue to operate with its existing identity, management team, and client relationships, maintaining its commitment to premium onshore paraplanning services across all licensee groups. The partnership is expected to provide TNT with additional resources to expand its experienced Australian paraplanner base and invest further in technology and workflow capabilities, ultimately supporting more advice practices in scaling their operations.
