Alligator Energy Ltd (ASX: AGE) has reported initial drilling results from its 2026 exploration program at the Big Lake Uranium Project in South Australia’s Lake Eyre Basin, confirming further uranium mineralisation at Site 10. Alligator Energy is a uranium project development and exploration company with projects that have clear pathways for approval and development. The Alligator Energy Directors and Leadership Team have significant uranium experience. The company completed thirty-three aircore holes for a total of 4,112 metres during the program. Follow-up drilling at Site 10 intersected uranium mineralisation associated with the interpreted redox boundary between oxidised and reduced sands, providing geological evidence that supports Alligator’s roll-front uranium exploration model.
Key intersections, reported above a 100ppm eU3O8 cut-off, include 1.0 metre at 0.018% (180ppm) eU3O8 from 98.1 metres and 0.9 metres at 0.019% (190ppm) eU3O8 from 100.4 metres in hole AC26-006. Additionally, hole AC26-009 returned 1.9 metres at 0.032% (320ppm) eU3O8 from 100.9 metres. Regional drilling conducted 6 kilometres south of Site 10 also intersected similar oxidised and reduced sands at comparable depths. The prospective palaeochannel remains open to the southeast and is interpreted from seismic data to extend a further approximately 12 kilometres, suggesting a broader geological setting.
Dr Andrea Marsland-Smith, Alligator CEO and Managing Director, expressed satisfaction with the early results. She stated that the work at Site 10 has confirmed further uranium mineralisation and is providing a clearer picture of how the roll-front system is developing and its potential scale. Dr Marsland-Smith also highlighted the encouraging regional intersections as indicative of the favourable geological setting extending well beyond the initial discovery area. Alligator’s focus is now on progressively defining the redox front at Site 10 and the broader palaeochannel system, using this information to inform future drilling strategies across other areas of the project. Further drilling is planned for the remainder of Q3 and potentially Q4 2026.
