Leading U.S. Cardiac Centre Joins Study Evaluating AI-Powered Coronary Artery Disease Detection

Artrya Limited (ASX: AYA), a medical technology company commercialising its SalixAI-powered cloud platform for near real-time assessment and management of coronary artery disease, has announced that Mass General Brigham, a top-ranked U.S. centre for cardiac care, will participate in the retrospective SAPPHIRE Study. The participation is subject to final documentation and ethics approval. Mass General Brigham is a global leader in cardiovascular care and one of the largest hospital-based research enterprises in the U.S., with nearly $2 billion in annual research funding and over 3,700 active clinical trials.

The SAPPHIRE Study is expected to launch in early 2026, with three high-volume U.S. sites now confirmed. It will assess how Artrya’s Salix platform can detect coronary artery disease earlier and more effectively. Dr. Ron Blankstein, Director of Cardiac Computed Tomography & Preventive Cardiologist, has been named as Principal Investigator of the SAPPHIRE Study. The inclusion of Mass General Brigham adds to the credibility of the study, alongside Piedmont Healthcare and the Huntsville Hospital Heart Center.

John Konstantopoulos, Co-Founder and CEO of Artrya, expressed excitement about Mass General Brigham’s involvement, highlighting their research capabilities and extensive clinical trial experience. Dr. Blankstein shared his enthusiasm for exploring how the Salix platform can enhance the ability to detect coronary artery disease earlier, aligning with his focus on advancing the prevention and treatment of early-stage coronary heart disease.

The SAPPHIRE study is a multi-centre, real-world study that will evaluate the clinical and prognostic value of Artrya’s Salix Plaque Analysis and its Plaque Dispersion Score (PDS), aiming to improve identification of patients at elevated risk of cardiovascular events.
