OpenLearning Limited (ASX: OLL), the AI-powered learning management system (LMS), has announced a new agreement with Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP) in Central Java, Indonesia. The five-year software-as-a-service (SaaS) agreement will see UMP utilise OpenLearning’s LMS across its campus, catering to approximately 19,000 students annually. UMP is the largest private university in western Central Java. OpenLearning provides a full suite of tools for online learning, course creation and delivery, for education institutions, corporations and government.

The agreement has a total minimum contracted SaaS fee of approximately A$175,000 over the five-year period. There is potential for additional revenue depending on the extent of platform usage. UMP, founded in 1965, is part of the Muhammadiyah network, one of the largest Islamic educational organisations in Indonesia. The network operates 89 universities nationwide as of 2024.

UMP’s selection of OpenLearning followed an evaluation of multiple LMS platforms, with the decision influenced by successful implementations at other Muhammadiyah universities. The company believes that the agreement terms warrant disclosure because UMP’s selection of OpenLearning is likely to be publicised online. The agreement was finalised after close of business on October 31st, 2025, and has a commencement date of November 17th, 2025.

Adam Brimo, CEO of OpenLearning, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting its significance for OpenLearning’s expansion in Indonesia. He also noted that the company aims for UMP to become a case study, demonstrating how technology can enhance online and blended education. OpenLearning anticipates that this agreement will strengthen its position as a leading AI-powered LMS provider across Southeast Asia, building on its existing presence in Malaysia and the Philippines.
