AR3 secures A$617k tax refund amid growing global focus on critical minerals supply chains.

Australian Rare Earths Limited (ASX:AR3) has announced the receipt of a A$617,492 Research & Development (R&D) tax refund for the 2025 financial year. Australian Rare Earths is an emerging diversified critical minerals company, strategically positioned to meet the growing global demand for uranium and rare earth elements. The incentive falls under the Australian Government’s Research and Development Tax Incentive (RDTI) program and recognises AR3’s investment in innovation at its Koppamurra Rare Earth Project in South Australia.

The R&D rebate complements AR3’s A$5 million co-funded grant under the International Partnerships in Critical Minerals Program. This further strengthens Australia’s strategic position as a trusted supplier of critical minerals essential to the global energy transition. Rare earth elements are essential for technologies powering electric vehicles, wind turbines, and advanced electronics, driving the global race to secure stable supply chains.

Recent geopolitical developments, including the Critical Minerals Framework signed between the United States and Australia, highlight the importance of secure and diversified rare earth supply chains. AR3 Managing Director and CEO, Travis Beinke, stated that the funding will provide ongoing support to advance Koppamurra, a strategically important project. It will aid in building diverse, resilient, and sustainable supply chains of light and heavy rare earths through strong international partnerships.

Beinke added that this week’s historical critical minerals Framework signed by President Trump and Prime Minister Albanese marks a significant step in accelerating the development of new diversified rare earth supply. AR3 is positioning itself to play a pivotal role in meeting the increasing demand for responsibly sourced light and heavy rare earths. The announcement has been authorised for release by the Board of Australian Rare Earths Limited.
