Exploration underway at Dittmer Project to delineate copper mineralisation

Ballymore Resources (ASX:BMR) has announced the commencement of a detailed Induced Polarisation (IP) geophysical survey over the Andromache prospect. The prospect is located within the company’s flagship Dittmer Project in North Queensland. Ballymore Resources holds a portfolio of exploration and development projects in prolific Queensland mineral belts that are highly prospective for gold and base metals. These consist of two granted Mining Leases (MLs) and fourteen Exploration Permits over four project areas at Dittmer, Ruddygore, Ravenswood, Mount Molloy.

The IP survey aims to delineate copper mineralisation below anomalous geochemistry, geology, historical workings, and a modelled magnetic pipe-like feature. The Andromache prospect, situated 25km south of Dittmer, was initially identified as a porphyry copper deposit in the 1970s. The gold-rich oxide cap was mined in the 1980s. Since then, there has been little exploration until Ballymore began work. The company received a $150,000 grant (plus GST) to complete the survey.

The Andromache IP survey will consist of seven lines and is expected to take approximately 30 days to complete. Ballymore believes the Dittmer Project area represents a major new mineral district with significant historical mining activity but little modern exploration. The company is undertaking drilling and field programs to assess the regional potential for a much larger system.

Managing Director David A-Izzeddin expressed excitement about the commencement of the IP survey, highlighting the potential for a significant copper system in the area. He noted that the survey would assist in delineating sulphide mineralisation at depth for future drilling. The company eagerly awaits the results of the survey.
