IP Geophysics Survey Maps Sunnyside Shear Zone, Unveiling Six High-Priority Drill Targets

Koonenberry Gold (ASX: KNB) has announced the identification of priority drill targets at its Enmore Gold Project in northeast New South Wales, following the completion of an IP Geophysics survey. Koonenberry Gold Ltd is a minerals explorer aiming to create value for shareholders through the discovery of Gold and Copper across its diverse portfolio of highly prospective and strategically located projects. The Gradient Array Induced Polarisation (GAIP) survey successfully mapped the Sunnyside Shear Zone, revealing it as a linear resistivity low within the granite, the preferred host rock for gold mineralisation at Sunnyside. These resistivity lows are interpreted as fluid pathways associated with sericite-iron carbonate alteration, which is associated with gold mineralisation.

The survey results indicate that the Sunnyside Shear Zone pinches and swells along its over 2km strike length, potentially creating dilational sites for gold mineralisation. Six high-priority drill targets have been identified along first and second order structures, with coincident gold and arsenic in soil anomalies. The company believes GAIP is a useful tool for mapping first and second order structures across the Enmore Project’s 30km of prospective shear zones, aiding in ranking targets at the district scale.

Managing Director Dan Power commented that the electrical geophysical survey at Enmore has improved the understanding of mineralisation-controlling structures at Sunnyside. Extrapolating from known mineralisation, the company has identified several priority targets along the Sunnyside Shear Zone, supported by gold and arsenic anomalies in soil geochemistry within the preferred granite host rock. This data highlights prospectivity to the east of Sunnyside, with potential extensions and repetitions of gold mineralisation.

Koonenberry Gold is well-funded to continue exploration across its projects, with $8.7 million in cash. Planning for a +10,000m Phase II drilling program at Enmore is progressing, with commencement anticipated in late August, weather permitting. This next phase aims to test the continuity and extensions to mineralisation at Sunnyside, with drilling also planned along the Sunnyside Shear Zone.
