Sprintex (ASX: SIX) has secured a $9.3 million contract to supply its G15 series jet blowers to Guangdong Baode Technology Co (BD Compressor), a Chinese aeration equipment supplier. Sprintex is an Australian company specialising in clean air technology, focusing on the design, development, and manufacture of superchargers and related products. The three-year private label agreement will see BD Compressor distribute the high-speed blowers under its own brand to China’s expanding pond-based aquaculture industry.
The contract includes a minimum quarterly order commitment of $320,000 for BD Compressor. To maintain exclusivity, BD Compressor must place total annual orders of up to $3.85 million. The initial order is expected to provide Sprintex with early revenue visibility and support operational scaling. BD Compressor, established in 2016, specialises in screw air compressors, precision filters and refrigerated dryers.
Based in Guangdong, BD Compressor strategically serves China’s $300 billion pond-based aquaculture market, a rapidly growing sector driven by increasing domestic seafood demand, export market expansion, and government mandates for energy-efficient equipment. China’s aquaculture production is approximately 50 million tonnes annually, accounting for over 60% of global output, with a significant portion originating from southern regions like Guangdong.
Sprintex managing director Jay Upton stated that this agreement marks a significant milestone as the company expands into the world’s largest aquaculture market. He added that the company’s oil-free, high-efficiency blowers could deliver energy savings of more than 50% compared to conventional technologies. Upton anticipates that BD Compressor’s reputation and network, combined with Sprintex’s technology, will result in considerable environmental and cost-saving benefits within the sector.
