Solara Minerals Ltd (ASX: SLA), an Australian mineral exploration company focused on developing precious and base metal projects, has announced significant high-grade gold and silver results from reconnaissance sampling at its Myrnas Hill project. Released on 9 October 2026, the findings stem from a defined east-west trending quartz vein in Western Australia’s Pilbara region, which has been traced over 400 metres and indicates substantial mineralisation potential.
The recent rock chip sampling returned notable assays, including 7.05 grams per tonne gold (Au) and 3.28 g/t silver (Ag) from sample SLMH002. Another sample, SLMH007, yielded 1.85 g/t Au and 1.08 g/t Ag. These new results are supported by historical exploration efforts. Previous RAB drilling in 2003 identified anomalous gold intercepts, such as 3m at 1.51 g/t Au from 19m, including 1m at 2.93 g/t Au in hole FWM08. Subsequent Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling by Kalamazoo Resources in 2013 also confirmed low-grade mineralisation, with an intercept of 12m at 0.33 g/t Au from 28m in FWM31.
Myrnas Hill has a history of strong mineralisation, with historical rock chip samples from various explorers reporting values up to 6.70 g/t Au, 8.98% copper, and 173.5 g/t Ag. The company noted that the structural complexity of the area may have previously hindered extensive follow-up work, especially along the eastern strike of the quartz vein where recent samples demonstrate promise. Solara Minerals is encouraged by these preliminary results and a review of historical geochemistry, which reveals a clear relationship between arsenic and gold anomalism. The company plans further work, including air core drilling to explore the east-west quartz vein trend and assessing the northern part of the tenement, an area with limited prior exploration.
