Manhattan Gold Corporation Limited (ASX: MHC) has reported significant assay results from its Jaws target within the Hook Lake Project, Nunavut, Canada. Manhattan Gold Corporation Ltd is an early-stage gold and polymetallic exploration company focused on emerging exploration projects in tier 1 jurisdictions. Its current exploration projects include Hook Lake in Nunavut, Canada, and Tibooburra in New South Wales, Australia. The latest drilling at Jaws delivered 21.34 metres at 1.72 grams per tonne gold from 32.0 metres, notably extending the mineralised strike length to 1.25 kilometres.
Drillhole JWS26012, located more than 275 metres southwest of the nearest previous drillhole (JWS26006b, which returned 41.15 metres at 4.66 grams per tonne gold), confirmed shallow gold mineralisation. This intercept included a higher-grade zone of 4.57 metres at 4.89 grams per tonne gold, containing 1.52 metres at 9.35 grams per tonne gold. The company announced that drilling has now extended across a 1,252-metre strike length at Jaws, with drillhole JWS26011 identifying anomalous gold values over 650 metres outside the historic drilling footprint. This expansion now encompasses a 490-metre strike length of higher-grade gold mineralisation within the broader prospect.
Beyond Jaws, Manhattan Gold has completed maiden drilling at other regional targets within the Hook Lake Project. These include Spectre, identified as a volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposit, as well as the orogenic gold targets Quantum and Lotus, and the banded-iron formation (BIF) target Omega. Ten drillholes are currently pending assay results, with three of these from the Spectre target. Additionally, till sampling has been finalised across the northeastern Jaws extensions and key targets within the Omega banded iron formation, with results expected to guide 2027 drilling activities. Samples from JWS26008 and SPC26001 have also been dispatched for scoping metallurgical tests.
