Neurizon Therapeutics (ASX: NUZ) is advancing NUZ-001 through the registrational Phase 2/3 HEALEY ALS Platform Trial in the United States, targeting amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or motor neurone disease. Recruitment is complete, with 250 participants enrolled across 78 sites and topline results expected in late Q2 2027.
Executive Chair Sergio Duchini says completion of recruitment represents a significant milestone as the company progresses towards a potentially value-defining clinical readout. Earlier Phase 1 and open-label extension data showed a 71% lower risk of death versus matched historical controls, alongside slower functional and respiratory decline.
Neurizon is also advancing regulatory and partnering activities, with orphan drug designations in the US and Europe, patent protection extending to 2041 and further preclinical updates expected as the company builds towards the HEALEY trial readout.
