West Star Industrial’s (ASX:WSI) wholly-owned subsidiary, SIMPEC, has been awarded an $11 million contract for work at the Tianqi Lithium Hydroxide Processing operation in Kwinana, Western Australia. SIMPEC will undertake civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation works. The project is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2026, and is intended to increase the facility’s capacity through updated equipment, ensuring consistent plant performance.
West Star Industrial is an Australian parent company to SIMPEC, Alltype Engineering, and WATMAR. The company is focused on delivering solutions to industrial projects across a range of sectors including resources and energy. This contract with Tianqi Lithium Energy Australia (TLEA) signifies a pivotal step in SIMPEC’s growth strategy.
According to Managing Director Mark Dimasi, this contract underscores SIMPEC’s reputation as a trusted delivery partner for complex industrial projects and highlights the company’s capability to execute multidisciplinary packages to a high standard. TLEA, a joint venture between Tianqi Lithium (HKG:9696) and IGO (ASX:IGO), owns the Kwinana Lithium-Hydroxide Processing operation.
Dimasi noted that this award aligns with SIMPEC’s strategic objective of supporting Australia’s energy transition while strengthening its presence in the lithium sector. The project will support continuous plant performance through updated equipment.
