Horseshoe Metals Ltd (ASX: HOR) has announced significant progress at its Horseshoe Lights Copper-Gold Project in Western Australia. Horseshoe Metals is focused on the exploration and development of copper and gold projects in Western Australia. The company’s flagship project is the Horseshoe Lights Project, which includes the historic Horseshoe Lights copper-gold mine.

The start-up of Direct Shipping Ore (DSO) copper operation is well advanced, with DSO Mining Approval already received. Field personnel have been mobilised to the site to commence early access works. Earthmoving equipment is expected to arrive at Horseshoe Lights by late August. The company anticipates announcing experienced Copper DSO & Oxide Operations management appointments in the near future.

Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling is planned at Horseshoe Lights to infill Motters Copper Oxide near the surface and test gold targets west of the open pit. Approximately 1,550m of RC drilling is scheduled to commence in mid-August. Discussions are progressing with commodity traders regarding potential copper offtake and funding arrangements to further the staged development of the Horseshoe Lights copper asset.

The HSL camp’s caretaker quarters and 14 rooms are now fully operational, and the refurbishment of additional rooms will continue as the workforce expands. Important site infrastructure has been recommissioned to support both the near-term commencement of DSO activities and Melody Gold’s proposed Gold Surface Material processing. Preparation of a mining proposal is underway for Copper Oxide Surface Material HMS/Heap Leach processing and Gold Surface Material processing.
