3,000m drilling program seeks to understand uranium mineralisation in South Australia.

Core Energy Minerals (ASX:CR3) is progressing its exploration of uranium mineralisation patterns at the Cummins Project area in South Australia. The company is undertaking a 3,000-metre drilling program to further understand the project’s potential. Core Energy Minerals is a mineral explorer and developer focused on its uranium asset portfolio in Australia, Brazil, and Namibia.

To date, the company has completed 18 holes, totalling 1,909 metres, of the planned drilling program. The objective is to confirm historical intercepts, gain insights into the mineralised system, and establish geochemical vectors that may lead to further mineralisation discoveries. The Cummins Project is located on the Eyre Peninsula, a region known for its high radiometric levels and numerous uranium occurrences, including Alligator Energy’s Samphire deposit.

Executive Director Tony Greenaway said that initial scintillometer readings and soil sampling have revealed gamma and scintillometer anomalies, indicating the presence of uranium. These findings warrant further investigation. The company awaits pending assay results from the drillholes to better assess the scale of the opportunity within this prospective region of South Australia.

Greenaway stated that they are well-positioned for the discovery of significant uranium mineralisation. Core Energy Minerals aims to leverage the assay results to understand the full potential of the Cummins Project.
