Drilling program yields promising results; Sybil prospect fieldwork to begin shortly

Sunshine Metals (ASX:SHN) is expediting studies to commercialise its Liontown prospect within the Ravenswood Consolidated Project. This decision follows a drilling program targeting the Plateau and Salla prospects. Sunshine Metals is focused on discovering and developing high-quality gold and copper projects in Queensland. The company’s key assets are located in the Charters Towers-Ravenswood and Hodgkinson mineral provinces.

The drilling program at the Plateau prospect involved eight holes across 599 metres of infill drilling. The data obtained will be used to update the resource model in the coming weeks. Significant results include 8 metres at 3.17 grams per tonne gold and 31 grams per tonne silver from 61 metres, including a higher-grade section of 2 metres at 6.97 grams per tonne gold and 84 grams per tonne silver, in drillhole 25PLRC006.

At the Salla prospect, a three-hole reverse circulation reconnaissance program across 592 metres tested an induced polarisation chargeable anomaly and a coincident gravity anomaly. The drilling intersected zones of pyrite and sphalerite spaced 200 metres apart. While initial results were not economic, the company plans further data collection and target refinement before any follow-up drilling.

In the near future, Sunshine Metals will commence reverse circulation drilling and field work at the Sybil prospect. This work will contribute to an updated resource estimate expected later in the year. The Ravenswood Consolidated project is situated in the Charter Towers-Ravenswood district, a region historically known for significant gold and volcanogenic massive sulfide ore production.
