Fieldwork begins at Francis Creek prospect ahead of drilling program.

Sunshine Metals (ASX:SHN) has commenced initial mapping and sampling activities at the Francis Creek prospect, which is part of the Sybil Project in Queensland. This fieldwork is a precursor to an upcoming drilling program scheduled to begin between July and August 2025.

The ongoing fieldwork will concentrate on first-pass mapping and targeting at Francis Creek East and the Burdekin Veins prospect. The company will be closely evaluating high-potential prospects including Francis Creek East, Quartz Ridge, and the Burdekin Veins in the coming weeks. Increasing arsenic and antimony levels in sampling at Francis Creek East and Burdekin Veins suggest exposure of the upper boiling zone and a thickening of the prospective stratigraphy.

Sunshine Metals Managing Director Damien Keys expressed increased confidence in the district’s gold potential after spending time on site. He noted Francis Creek is a prolific epithermal vein field with limited historical drilling. “Vein textures and geochemical datasets continue to support our geological model, pointing to a thicker auriferous boiling zone toward the east and southeast,” Keys said.

Sunshine Metals is an Australian exploration company focused on discovering and developing high-quality mineral resources. The Sybil project is an epithermal gold system located 135km west of Townsville and 140km north of Charters Towers. It sits on a 40km-long extensional structure filled with Permian-Carboniferous volcanics and is prospective for Pajingo-style gold mineralisation.
