ASX-listed ClearVue collaborates with LandGlass to develop next-generation photovoltaic vacuum glazing technology.

ClearVue Technologies Limited (ASX:CPV), an Australian technology company integrating solar technology into building surfaces, has announced a strategic partnership with LandGlass Technology Co., Ltd’s subsidiary, LandVac, to co-develop and commercialise solar vacuum insulated glazing (Solar VIG) products. ClearVue aims to provide renewable energy generation and offset the operational carbon footprint of buildings. The non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will see the two companies collaborate on research and development, manufacturing, and commercialisation efforts.

The partnership will leverage LandVac’s advanced vacuum insulated glazing technology with ClearVue’s proprietary solar photovoltaic solutions. The combined technologies will create vacuum insulated glazing, cladding, and spandrel products offering significant thermal performance improvements over traditional façade materials. LandVac is known for its energy-efficient, sound-insulating VIG, with sales and distribution in over fifty countries. The new Solar VIG range will include vacuum insulated vision glass, skylights, spandrel, and cladding panels, co-branded and marketed through both companies’ global distribution networks.

The collaboration will establish a Joint Venture company based in Hong Kong, serving as the intellectual property holding entity for newly co-developed innovations. Both parties will contribute their respective technologies, expertise, and global networks to the partnership. ClearVue will exclusively use LandGlass’s VIG technology when promoting vacuum insulated solar solutions, and LandGlass will exclusively use ClearVue’s BIPV technology in its VIG products with solar functionality.

Douglas Hunt, Interim CEO of ClearVue, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the compatibility of ClearVue’s Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) technology with vacuum insulated glazing. Yan Zhao, Founder of LandGlass Group, anticipates that the Solar VIG series will set a new benchmark for building energy conservation, accelerating global progress towards carbon neutrality goals through green building materials. The MOU is initially for a 12-month period to finalise contractual agreements and incorporate the strategic partnership company.
