Anson Boosts Green River Lithium Project

Strategic claim acquisition expands Utah lithium project footprint by nearly 10%

Anson Resources (ASX: ASN) has significantly expanded its Green River lithium project in Utah, USA, by pegging an additional 100 strategic claims. This acquisition increases the project’s footprint by nearly 10%, bringing the total area to 88.61 square kilometres. Anson Resources focuses on developing natural resources, particularly lithium, to meet the growing demand for energy storage. The company is dedicated to creating value through the exploration and responsible development of its projects.

Anson’s strategy involves examining historical oil and gas wells in the area. The new claims contain two such wells that recorded brine flowing near the surface. These are considered re-entry targets to potentially increase the project’s resource estimate. Notably, the Grand Fault Unit 14-24 well extends deep into the Mississippian Unit and is located next to a continuously flowing geyser, indicating high porosity.

Oil flow drill stem tests conducted at the Grand Fault well, the Green River Unit 1 well, and other historical wells within the project region suggest that the Mississippian strata have high permeability across a large area. Anson believes this permeability could support the flow rates required for a planned lithium plant, and that the pressure may remain constant over the life of the project.

The newly added claims, filed by Anson’s fully owned subsidiary Blackstone Minerals, form one contiguous block with the Area of Influence recently approved by the Utah state government. Anson CEO Bruce Richardson stated that approximately 28% of the new claims would be included in the next JORC mineral resource upgrade.
