Meridian Energy (ASX:MEZ) has announced the appointment of Rory Blundell to the newly created role of General Manager, Strategy and Portfolio. Blundell, previously Meridian’s Strategy Manager, brings over 20 years of New Zealand electricity sector experience to the position. His appointment is effective immediately.
CEO designate Mike Roan emphasized Blundell’s experience and capabilities in advancing the company’s strategic objectives. Roan expressed confidence that Blundell will enhance the alignment of Meridian’s market portfolio and customer solutions with its overall strategy. The appointment underscores Meridian’s focus on strengthening its executive team and fostering internal talent development. Chris Ewers, the current acting General Manager, Strategy and Portfolio, will transition to the role of Electricity Security Manager, reporting to General Manager, Generation Tania Palmer.
