Envirostream to recycle BYD's EV, commercial and energy storage system batteries.

Livium (ASX: LIT) subsidiary Envirostream Australia has secured an expanded battery recycling agreement with BYD Australia. This new deal includes alternative fuel and commercial vehicle batteries, along with battery energy storage systems (BESS), solidifying Envirostream as BYD’s preferred recycling partner in Australia. Replacing an initial agreement from September, this three-year contract addresses the increasing recycling needs of BYD’s expanding operations in the local market.

Livium’s Managing Director, Simon Linge, emphasized that the expanded agreement reflects BYD’s confidence in Envirostream’s capabilities. The partnership has already exceeded volume expectations, and both companies aim to extend their lithium-ion battery recycling reach to New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, and the broader Oceania region. BYD Australia, a subsidiary of the global new energy vehicle leader BYD, holds a 14% share of the Australian EV market. This agreement aligns with Livium’s strategy to secure long-term battery recycling contracts and diversify end-of-life battery sources, ensuring a stable and scalable supply from the EV and BESS sectors.
