Phase 2 drilling commences targeting expansion of the mineralized envelope.

Antares Metals Ltd (ASX: AM5) has commenced Phase 2 RC drilling at its Surprise Copper Project in Queensland, involving approximately 1,500 meters of drilling. This drilling program aims to expand the known mineralized envelope of the project by testing previously unexplored targets identified through geophysics and located beneath outcropping high-grade copper mineralized zones. The company will be targeting anomalous magnetic, chargeable, and conductive zones detected by 2024 geophysical surveys, as well as areas displaying surface copper mineralization.

This phase of drilling will test targets up to 1.2 km north of the historic Surprise Copper Mine, with plans for a third drilling phase later in the season to explore additional targets both north and south of the mine. According to CEO Johan Lambrechts, this new phase aims to broaden the project’s mineralized footprint by testing geophysical targets and subsurface copper mineralization.

Previous drilling at Surprise intersected promising mineralized intervals, including 11m @ 1.8% Cu and 1.3 g/t Au from 68m, including 4m @ 3.8% Cu from 71m. Additionally, surface rock samples have yielded results up to 26% Cu from portable XRF analysis. The company also intends to advance other copper-gold targets during the exploration season, including Conglomerate Creek. Antares Metals is dedicated to keeping shareholders informed about its advancement and discoveries as it proceeds.
