MaxMine Appoints New CEO, CFO for Growth

MaxMine, a technology and services provider for open-pit mining, has announced the appointment of Shaun Mitchell as its new CEO and Rohit Selvaratnam as CFO. Mitchell, who previously served as COO, will lead the company’s expansion and product development, focusing on harnessing artificial intelligence (AI) for the mining sector. Selvaratnam brings over 25 years of financial experience to the role.

Mitchell succeeds interim CEO Tom Cawley, who returns to his position as Executive Chair. Cawley emphasized Mitchell’s expertise is crucial as MaxMine enters a phase of rapid growth. The company reports substantial revenue and employment increases, delivering efficiency gains to mining clients in Australia and Africa, while reducing carbon intensity.

A key priority for the new leadership is to improve productivity, accelerate market speed, and embed AI into MaxMine’s operations and products. Mitchell highlighted MaxMine’s comprehensive dataset of over 14 million hours of operational data, positioning the company at the forefront of AI-driven decision support within the mining industry.
