Scandium Canada (TSX-V:SCD) has secured C$180,000 in financial assistance from the Québec Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests (MRNF). The funding will support a geological study focused on a specific area within the Crater Lake project’s geological formation. Maïté Blanchette Vézina, the Minister of Natural Resources and Forests, announced the support, emphasizing its role in enhancing mineral processing methods for scandium and rare earth element extraction. The study’s primary goal is to refine drilling efforts and define a higher-grade resource at the project site. Scandium is classified as a critical and strategic mineral (CSM).

CEO of Scandium Canada, Guy Bourassa, expressed gratitude for the Ministry’s support, highlighting scandium’s importance in modern advanced materials. He noted its role in enhancing aluminum alloys and driving innovation across various industries. Bourassa emphasized the strategic opportunity for Québec to become a key player in the high-performance materials sector, especially within the aluminium industry, thereby fostering the province’s economic and technological advancement through the Crater Lake project’s development.
