Morning Market: US sharemarkets were weaker on Tuesday

Retail sales fell more than expected in July. Shares in Home Depot slid 4.3% after the company’s same-store sales fell short of estimates for the first time in two years. Shares in rival Lowe’s fell by 5.8%. Shares in Walmart were flat after it increased its US same-store sales forecast. The Dow Jones index lost 282 points or 0.8% from record highs. The S&P 500 index eased 0.7% from record highs. And the Nasdaq index lost 138 points or 0.9%.
