Morning Report: US sharemarkets fluctuated on Wednesday

The US Federal Reserve refrained from signalling that it will make any changes to its bond-buying program any time soon. Shares of JPMorgan lifted 1.6% after CEO Jamie Dimon said the US could be in store for an economic boom through to 2023. But shares of prison operator Geo Group plunged 20.4% after suspending quarterly dividend payments. The Dow Jones index closed up by 16 points or 0.1%. The S&P 500 index gained 0.2% to a record closing high. But the Nasdaq index fell by just 9.5 points or 0.1%.
