Next Week At A Glance

By Sunday Australia could be a different place, assuming a result can be called early on. With the ASX200 once again eyeing off new highs, one can only assume the sector-specific repercussions of a change in government have been taken on board.

If the result is known by Tuesday, it will be interesting to hear what the RBA governor has to say in a scheduled speech. The minutes of the May meeting are also out on Tuesday, in a week otherwise devoid of major economic releases.

The Fed minutes are due on Wednesday night. The US will also see new home sales and durable goods data next week. Flash May manufacturing PMI estimates will be offered for the US, Japan and the eurozone, and Australia.

Japan releases its March quarter GDP result on Monday.

It’s a busy week in the local stock market, particularly with regard the out-of-cycle earnings result season. Results are due from Elders ((ELD)), Incitec Pivot ((IPL)), ALS ltd ((ALQ)), James Hardie ((JHX)), OFX Group ((OFX)), TechnologyOne ((TNE)), Aristocrat Leisure ((ALL)), and EclipX Group ((ECX)).

There will also be another host of AGMs.
